that leaves 3 chars and roles taken, leaving DPS and CC for you to fill out with your character and a created one at tavern or another companion. dont feel the pressure to go 'supertank'. If you like Eder (not spoiling much you see him in the first 20s of actual gameplay), the rogue/war multiclass is REALLY good at tanking if you want him to be. I recommend Xoti as priest or hybrid, and tekehu as full-on druid simply from an in-game perspective, as they are incredibly enjoyable personalities. I think his recommendation on rangers are spot on, they are weak, but overall anything can work (even on PoTD) if you approach fights carefully. MOST stuff works decently if you're used to top down RPG games (or tabletop). u/jzhnen4 obviously knows what he's talking about, but in my opinion he's coming from a min/max perspective. While there were a lot of helpful responses, I'd like to give a shoutout to Jzahnen4 in particular for their detailed response. This post has gotten quite a lot of views and I have a feeling other people with the similar questions may find their way to this post, and the more insightful opinions and thoughts in the comments could help a lot of people :) Feel free to keep them coming with what you enjoy to play and why. Thanks for all the responses in this thread. Some good info on all the classes and how they pair/synergize with other classes). Highly recommend for just about everyone. But I feel like after the research I have done (I'll post a link to a series of very informative video's I found by Fextralife. Now this could be subject to change, because i know a lot of people end up rerolling haha. <- See these? Clear sign that I suck at reddit and have no clue wtf I am doing with formatting! :PĮDIT: If anyone is curious, I ended up rolling a cipher/rogue (beguiler/assassin). Maybe give me your opinion on what you think an ideal overall group comp would be, and I can decide off those as a good idea on a direction. that’s pretty much what I am looking for, but I can’t nail down my selection. Something I could distribute my stats in a way to have much more options in conversations, and I found myself attached to most of my group instead of just my PC. I played through pillars 1 as a monk, and while I really enjoyed it, I found myself wishing I had gone as a cipher or priest or something. So I know ideal group set up is tank/tank/supportheal/dps/ranged dps. Most of my time spent at character selection was spent on google and various places trying to answer my own question, to no avail. I just finished pillars 1 earlier today and hopped into pillars 2. So as the titles says, I can’t for the life of me decide on a class as my main character.
